On a wet and windy night on the edge of Newton Mearns in the Valley of Whitecraigs RFC, Cartha QPU16s produce an outstanding team performance to win emphatically away to their local rivals.
The game was on the edge before the start with two set of floodlights going off, however enough light left and both teams agreed there was enough light to continue.
And aren't we glad that it did as we started strong, using our attacking strategies to go around and attack the width, but also reading the defence in front of you to punch through the defence when we where stretching them out wide. Also good to see kicking strategies being used when you recognised space in behind. Retention of ball possession and contest for ball was outstanding last night.....all working really hard for yourselves and the team......For this reason along with your energy and speed, evasive running is why we scored 11 tries.

Forwards and Backs getting in on the action and not forgetting 6 from 11 converted by Finn under difficult conditions.
This is the first clean sheet for the team for as long as I can remember and showed that tackling and defence where strong throughout, however there was several lapses in line speed and pressure that allowed a strong Whitecraigs to break through the line. Scott H was on fire as the last line of defence and has some inspiring tackling and speed to prevent Whitecraigs from scoring.
Discipline at the contact area or breakdown needs improving as still to many penalties but very pleased to see both teams showing great respect to each other and the referee throughout the whole game.
Man of the Match was Scott Heasley and Tackler of the Match was Scott Heasley so well done
