Cartha QP v Gala Dec 7th 2019.
CQP secure victory in hard fought contest.
This victory means that CQP have won all three games at home against the three traditional border teams in National One. With only a few minutes on the clock CQP mauled the Gala pack about twenty five metres leading to a penalty which Wayne Burrows converted. Shortly after that a CQP penalty struck the upright before falling into play. After seventeen minutes CQP opened the scoring from close range when Michael Robertson scored a try which Wayne converted. With a quarter of the game played Gala opened their account via a successful penalty. CQP restored their lead to ten points with a successful penalty of their own but with half an hour played Gala scored a nice try beginning in centre field. A missed tackle saw the Gala player break through the centre to score close to the posts. The try was converted and with about four minutes to the break Gala grabbed another three points from a penalty.

Full Time CQP 28 Gala 21.
This game took place on a cold wet day. Despite the conditions there were very few dropped balls and the two teams served up a competitive match. For CQP captain Wayne Burrows had a good game kicking well whether it be from ground or ball in hand. Next up is Kelso away. The sensational victory for CQP at home earlier in the season should mean that Kelso will be waiting for us hoping that they can gain revenge for the earlier result. Kelso are sitting in third bottom spot. If CQP can repeat today’s performance against Gala they must have a good chance of securing the double over Kelso.
