CQP kicked off and found themselves with a seven point lead when Scott McInnes broke through the centre making about thirty metres before putting in a well timed pass to Jake Graham-on the right wing who finished the move off. Wayne Burrows conversion hit the lefthand upright before bouncing over the bar.A few minutes later Jake Graham featured again with a nicely weighted overhead chip which saw him make about thirty metres. Following the CQP score Grammar came back with all guns blazing and after eighteen minutes of play levelled the score is a pushover try. Shortly before this CQP had gone down to fourteen players when Wayne Burrows was yellowed carded following a succession of penalties. Just after Wayne's return CQP scored again courtesy of Gregor Davidson who also took the conversion. Despite considerable pressure CQP reached the break 14-7 ahead.

With only five minutes on the clock Aberdeen drew level following sustained pressure. Shortly after this Callum Dickson went off injured and was replaced by Peter Hollier. A few minutes later saw Scott McInnes off via a shoulder injury being replaced by Tony Nyangweso. David Irvine then came on for Marcus Goodwin.

With almost three quarters of the game played Aberdeen took the lead for the first time with a converted try again following forward pressure. With just under ten minutes left Aberdeen secured their try bonus with a fourth try out wide. This try went unconverted but CQP to their credit kept trying to make ground and with only a few minutes left got their reward when Ewan Campbell got over on the right hand side. The try went unconverted and the game drew to a conclusion.

Full Time CQP 19 ( 1point) Aberdeen Grammar 26 ( 5 points)

It was clear from the touchline that Physically Aberdeen were a bigger and heavier squad than CQP leading to them having considerably more possession throughout the game than CQP.

CQP's defence was immense as tackle after tackle was made. When CQP did have the ball they played some attractive rugby. In conclusion Aberdeen undoubtedly deserved their victory but CQP should be proud of the way they continually thwarted the visitors attempts to pierce their defensive line.

Results elsewhere mean that CQP are in a four team contest to avoid a bottom two spot. In CQP's favour is that when they play the postponed away fixture against Kelso they will know exactly where they stand as all other games will have been completed before then. Fingers crossed CQP deserve to stay up.
