Aberdeen GSFP v Cartha FP Sat 3rd Nov 2018.

Conditions were dry with a gusty wind which CQP had at their backs in the first half. After an even start CQP took the lead after seven minutes when Thomas Davidson scored a nice individual try which Wayne Burrows converted. Three minutes later CQP increased their lead when Jacob Adamson scored in the left corner. The try went unconverted but CQP held a twelve point lead. On the fifteen minute mark Wayne pushed the CQP score up to fifteen points with a penalty. Shortly after this to the delight of the small group of CQP supporters Wayne punted a high ball into the left hand corner and Jacob Adamson got his second try with only sixteen minutes on the clock. This was followed by the four try bonus when Calum Dickson scored from close range. The try was converted and CQP's lead moved up to twenty-seven points. Aberdeen then got on the scoreboard with a try in the right corner. The conversion fell well short held back by the wind. CQP then potted a successful penalty. After this Wayne went down injured which later was revealed as ligament damage to his ankle. In the absence of a stretcher Maurice Adams went on to the pitch and carried Wayne off on his shoulder. Wayne was replaced by Stewart Hamilton and prior to that Jonnny Campion had come off injured and been replaced by Etienne Boudouresques. Up until Wayne had to leave the field he had been having a really big impact on the game carrying the ball well and putting in some good tactical kicks.

HT Grammar 5 CQP30.

Shortly after the restart CQP found themselves pinned in their own twenty two. An attempted clearance kick was charged down and Grammar had their second try which they followed up two minutes later with their third to move the score to 30-17. Gregg Gilmour came on for Jordan Murray. CQP managed to ease the pressure when Jacob Adamson scored a converted try. With ten minutes left Grammar got their try bonus and the score moved to 37-24. CQP saw out the last ten minutes without losing any further points and the final whistle went to give CQP a well deserved victory. CQP defended very well and the line out worked well with Peter Hollier taking good clean ball. Passing was generally good and the CQP set piece was very effective. If the old laws re the put I had still been in place CQP would certainly have taken numerous balls against the head.

In summary a very well deserved victory from a very good team performance As a footnote maybe I can claim a little credit on this occasion as I had told Jacob that if he wanted to be mentioned in the match report he should make sure he scored a try. Good team talk Try1 Try2 andTry three. Well done Jacob.
