The match took place in dry conditions. From the touchline it looked as though Kirkcaldy were both older and heavier. It took Kirkcaldy only five minutes to open the scoring with a converted try and only a further eight minutes to add a second try this time unconverted. On the half hour mark Kirkcaldy added a third converted try and just before the halftime break they secured their four try bonus try.

It took Kirkcaldy only five minutes to resume their try scoring and with only ten more minutes played they had added two further tries. All three of these tries were converted talking their total to forty seven unanswered points. At this stage it would have been reasonable to expect that the final score would be much more but CQP started to have more ball and denied Kirkcaldy any further points.

In the last ten minutes CQP got on the board with two unconverted tries courtesy of Dante Alexandri and captain Stewart Hamilton. Both tries were in the far left corner which meant that facing a stiff breeze it was unlikely that Andy Guthrie would be able to convert them.

This was a difficult game for CQP who were not helped when Callum Dickson had gone off in the first half with an arm injury. It to the teams credit that they fought to the end and had the better of the last quarter. CQP man of the match Stewart McKenzie.
