Kirsty has had a life-long involvement with rugby, firstly as a child, supporting and running touch for her father's team at Paisley RFC, then playing in her own right as an adult for West of Scotland FC. Kirsty briefly returned to playing rugby over the years after "retiring" in 2000, appearing for Glasgow Southern and Cartha. When the opportunity came up to become involved in coaching in 2017, Kirsty jumped at it, returning to her former club, West, where a women's section had recently been re-established. She remained with West for two seasons before moving to Cartha at the end of the 2018-19 season, where she is looking forward to the challenge and opportunities that coaching/managing a Premiership team will present.
